In October 2013, Siemens Enterprise Communications was rebranded to Unify, which was later bought by Atos in 2016. In the end of September of 2016, the company who was servicing the HiPath systems in Malta, and whom I was working with, decided to transfer its telephone systems maintenance to another company. I worked with this company for ten months and then an opportunity to change jobs came and I moved to another company. I started to receive calls from the owners of the HiPath and OpenScape Business telephone sytems for service, as there was no one trained on them. UNIFY announced that in April 2017 they are going to stop supporting HiPath 3000 systems, and urged their clients to upgrade. This meant that clients would rather upgrade than change their infrastructure and telephones. So in November of 2017, I decided to go self employed and service these clients. I had to build my CRM, demo system and website from scratch. I wrote to all the clients that I was on these telephone systems again, this time self employed. I made the UNIFY exams and was accredited as a UNIFY PARTNER. I am working to maintain and upgrade the exisiting cliens who use the HiPath telephone systems to the SIP enabled OpenScape Business. These systems offer many more features including Unified Communications and more. New clients can benefit from the quality of UNIFY products and my electronics, computing and telephony experience.
