A club like no other, Swieqi United represents the very vibrant and young community of Is-Swieqi [including Ta’ l-Ibrag and Madliena], a town situated in the northeastern part of the island of Malta. A project which kicked off back in 2009 with just one team has now grown to encompass nine competitive squads and a bustling youth academy. Despite being a mere nine years old, Swieqi United has already established itself as a very well organised club as its Committee is composed of professionals with a long-term plan and well-mapped strategy. Far from being fazed by the club’s location in the heart of an already competitive area [featuring some very well established football clubs], Swieqi United has been able to carve its own ‘niche’ based mostly on its administrative philosophy of: ‘One Team, One Club’, whilst genuinely acting as a community club. The club’s ties to all Swieqi residents are both indelible and important - since the organisation genuinely strives to place ‘Swieqi’ on the sporting map. The club is registered with both the Malta Football Association [MFA] and with the Malta Sports Council. During the 2017-18 season, the club has achieved promotion to the BOV 1st Division and it’s Under 19s team also convincingly won Section C of the Youth League.
