The Malta University Sports Club is a non-profit making organisation and the only student organisation within the University of Malta that deals with sport and fitness. Since its inception in 1925, MUSC has always been involved in promoting sports and an active lifestyle amongst students while developing the concept of ‘university sports’ on a nation-wide level. MUSC’s mission is to have every student in Malta doing some form of physical activity as often as possible because while being a student involves a lot of studying and sitting at a desk, MUSC believes that you can be even more successful in your studies if you find the time to exercise. MUSC organises many staple events on campus, including the Interfaculty Football Tournament and Sports Fest. The organisation works very closely with KSU and many other organisations and collaborates with them on a range of important events. A very important collaboration was that with KSU and Mdina Knights FC where MUSC teamed up with these two organisations to form a University Futsal Team which made its debut in the National Futsal League in September 2014. An area of work that MUSC has given great importance to in the last three years is the international sports field. MUSC forms part of two major university sports associations: FISU, the International University Sports Association, and EUSA, the European University Sports Associations, as well as ENAS, the European Network of Academic Sports Services, and this has helped MUSC develop is international presence and potential significantly. Being a member of these organisations gives MUSC the opportunity to attend conferences organised by them helping the MUSC Executive develop both the organisation, and Maltese university sport and gives MUSC the opportunity to participate in the European University Games and the Universiades, the second largest multi-sport event in the world after the Olympic Games.
