Design Principle is an architecture firm established by Andre Pizzuto in 2006 providing an integrated approach to architectural, interior and urban design solutions. The firm's main focus has been small- to medium-sized residential projects. Recent expansion of the firm, however, has seen it taken on an increasing diversity of projects, particularly in the hotel and catering industries. Andre graduated in engineering and architecture at the University of Malta in 2002, and was granted a professional warrant to practise as an architect in Malta in 2004. He completed his postgraduate studies in planning and urban design at London South Bank University in 2011 and is currently reading for an MBA in Real Estate and Construction Management at the College of Estate Management, Reading. In addition to his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in architecture, urban design, planning, construction management, real estate finance, and business administration, he attended various courses and seminars in the UK and Singapore on urban housing management, procurement, contract management, sustainability, and project finance. His professional qualifications include chartered membership of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Malta Chamber of Architects & Civil Engineers (KTP), and incorporate membership of the Chartered Institute Of Building (CIOB). He is also currently being assessed for professional competence to become a chartered member of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Andre has also been elected to the Council of the Maltese Chamber of Architects & Civil Engineers by his peers in December 2014.
